Developments

Since the early 1980s, under the watchful guidance of the Council's planners, several refurbishments and new residential and commercial developments have been completed.

These include:

Victoria Quay, Arethusa Quay , Industrial and Maritime Museum, Pump House and Quay, Mannheim Quay, Pockett's Wharf, Pilot House Wharf, Tower of the Ecliptic, Abernethy Square and Quay, Ferrara Square and Quay, The Maritime Village.

A Marriott Hotel opened in 1989 at a cost of £6.5million with 117 bedrooms and excellent leisure facilities including a swimming pool which proves a popular private facility for Marina residents.

In 2009, Meridian Quay will be completed and will include Wales' tallest residential development.

Standing 29 storeys high, the scheme which includes two low rise and one high rise building will add 291 luxury apartments to the mix of high quality accommodation on offer in the Maritime Quarter, as well as a panoramic restaurant on 29th floor of The Tower.
