Shopping and Nightlife

Swansea has a buzzing restaurant and club scene. There are over 100 restaurants and cafes of all nationalities such as the Pump House Steak restaurant and Gallinis in the Marina, and scores along Wind Street a short walk away, including La Brasseria serving local fresh fish caught daily.

There are great cafes and restaurants in cosmopolitan SA1 including the contemporary styled La Parilla with its glamorous outdoor seating area and the cosy Two Cann cafe which is perfect for coffee breaks and lunches.

Or take a trip to Mumbles where you'll be spoilt for choice. As to clubs, there are plenty from retro 80s along Wind Street to the new, £6 million three storey Oceana.

For shopping, you'll find the superb Swansea market, the largest indoor market in Wales, offering local produce from in and around the Gower. Choose from delicacies such as cockles and laver bread, welsh cakes and pancakes and locally caught fish.

The high street has a good mix of big name retailers including M&S, BHS, Monsoon and Debenhams, plus there's a new scheme set to open in 2009 that will house fashion giant Zara. For smaller, independent shops, head to Mumbles, the Brynamor Road area or the Marina.
